I wish to go on a shopping spree in New York City

Ever heard of Sex in the City? That is the experience Coralie envisioned to have with her best friend. Having had a kidney transplant, this young teen of 13 had put her life on hold for 4 years to go through never-ending treatments. The granting of her wish marked a new beginning in life!

The Make-A-Wish Quebec team organized an unforgettable shopping spree in the big apple. With the help of Make-A-Wish Metro New York & Western New York, Coralie, her parents and her best friend lived out a VIP experience including a personal greeting on the plane and a guided limousine city tour. The highlight? A private stylist at Macy’s!

Since the beginning of her treatments, Coralie’s self-esteem was very low. What is better than a new wardrobe to change that? At least, that is what her dad shared with us at their return. Included in her newly purchased clothes, the teenager bought friendship bracelets at Pandora for her and her best friend to celebrate their close bond that they have shared since kindergarten.

When you think of New York, you think of Times Square, the Empire State Building, 5th avenue, the gigantic M&M’s World and the very popular Bubba Gump Shrimp & Co. restaurant. During her New York adventure, Coralie got to visit all these places and even got to have breakfast at the Nutella Bar. A perfect destination for a chocolate loving teenage girl.

With her amazing new memories and her new wardrobe, Coralie is ready to start a new chapter in her life. The wish experience transformed her fear into confidence, her sadness to joy and her anxiety into hope.

A huge thank you to M.R.G. Construction for making this wish possible through the Adopt-A-Wish program. A thank you to our partners Sony, TuGo & WestJet for making this wish so special for Coralie!
